Vegetables are as important to building muscle as any other nutrient. Discussions about good diets for muscle development tend to obsess over complex carbohydrates and proteins; vegetables are largely ignored. There are many vitamins and nutrients you can only find in vegetables, meaning you won’t get them in pasta or meat. They also contain high levels of fiber. Fiber makes your body able to use the protein you consume.
Every muscle development routine should contain three classic exercises. These particular exercises are dead lifts, bench presses and squats. These exercises not only add muscles mass, but they improve your body’s overall strength and conditioning. You should make sure that your regular workout schedule includes all three of these exercises or at least some variations on them.
Do as many repetitions as you can during your workout sessions. Do fifteen lifts at minimum, and take a small break between. This stimulates the release of lactic acid, which is a key component in muscle growth. If you do this a couple of times each session, you will see great results.
Do not work out for more than an hour. Your body will produce more stress hormone, called cortisol, if you exceed an hour long workout. Cortisol may block testosterone and thwart your muscle-building efforts. For the best results, only spend 60 minutes or less working out.
If your goal is to build muscle, you must increase your protein consumption. Protein is one of the primary building blocks of muscle, and eating too little can actually cause you to lose muscle, defeating the purpose of bulking up. Aim to eat about 1 g of protein for every pound that you weigh.
Having a healthy body will make you feel your best, and developing lean muscle can help you achieve that goal. If you combine both a fitness exercise program with a strength training program, you will see greater result than with just a cardio workout alone. If you do both, the results should be noticeable within just a few weeks.
